The office will be open to participants and observers at all times during the competition. We will keep you fueled with plenty of snacks, caffeine and inspiration! Remember, you have to be at the Graffiti Tracker office for at least 24 hours during the course of the competition.

The Rules

  • Must be at least 18 years old and eligible for employment in the U.S.
  • Participants will have access to the Graffiti Tracker office for the duration of the competition. (Wireless Internet access will be provided.)
  • Participants will present their application to the judging panel at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Graffiti Tracker office.
  • Teams of two are permitted, but only one paid internship will be presented as the grand prize.
  • Participants should develop an original (software) application that will assist government in the area of public safety.
  • Open to any programming language and platform. Design a software, web or mobile application.
  • Must be on site for at least 24 hours during the course of the competition.
  • Be able to present a demo or mock-up and explain application in detail.

  • The Judges

    Tim Kephart, John W. Ewing Jr. and Garry Gernandt will open the competition with a discussion of some of the issues that Omaha and other governments face in the area of public safety and the opportunities to use technology to address these and other issues.
